Randy’s 1930 Deluxe Roadster

These are pictures are of Randy’s 1930 Deluxe Roadster. The EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) brought a 1929 Ford Tri-motor to the Anderson Airport last summer. Since Randy knew a few of the members, he was able to take his car to the airport and get some pictures. Also, he was able to take a ride in the airplane.

“Hank” Mattingly

1930 closed cab pick-up

“Hank”, a 1930 closed cab pick-up truck was adopted by Mike and Connie Mattingly in early April 2010. He hailed from Chesterton, Indiana, where he underwent a complete restoration consuming 3 1/2 years. He was painted Rubelite Red with black fenders. Hank was born (best guess according to frame stamp) in September of 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been a welcome addition to the Mattinlgy family ever since with no major break-downs or hospital visits to date.

“Sophie” Mattingly

1928 sport coupe

“Sophie” Mattingly was the second loved one adopted by the Mattingly family in May 2012. She is a southern bell transplanted form Hillsboro, Tennessee, close to Chattanooga. Sophie was sporting a fresh Andalusite Blue paint job upon arrival. She underwent a complete makeover (restoration) down South in 2012. She arrived at the Mattingly household on a flatbed truck and was welcomed by all. Her exact birthday is unknown, as she has no frame stamp, (most ladies don’t like to divulge there age). A Confererate at heart, Sophie complains occasionally about the colder North and has been known to not start, but Mike has been working to resolve that issue.
